If... I created some artwork

Artwork and prints

Valley.

The idea behind the valley artwork started a long time ago. The image shown is just a section of it, it is more portrait - A1 in size. When I was a kid, I used to draw a cross section through a valley with a biro pen, essentially just a wavy 'U' shaped line. In this valley I would draw stick men, building bridges and towers connecting the two sides, with cranes lowering stuff down into it, just generally a microcosm of activity. This version, done now as an adult, shows bridges and walkways built, even lights on, but it is deserted.

I don't often get the chance to pick up a pencil, so the four images were a an experiment, not just using my favourite soft lead (has to be a 2 or 3B) but with the colour as well. called neon shadow, I did a BOHO version as well (see the post on BOHO art).

The stare image is the one on the home page, and comes in different sizes, up to 1 metre square, printed on canvas. The profile image started out as an illustration of a woman staring into space, then, I realised we could be sat anywhere and a camera could be watching. There are as many as 5 million CCTV cameras dotted throughout the UK, so I added the lines to symbolise facial recognition software, tracking us everywhere we go.
